• We look upon children as individuals with unique talents and potential. By nurturing these talents and providing opportunity for meaningful daily accomplishments, we help children develop a strong sense of self-worth to become confident and self-sufficient.

• There is emphasis on maximum integration in normalized environments
• There is respect for the privacy and dignity of child and family
• The program is accountable for student growth and committed to child and family development
• The philosophy is reflected in program practices
• There is programmatic consideration for the cultural diversity of children and families
• Adaptation and services do not stigmatize the child (equipment, dress, etc.)
• There is an open-door policy (re: parent visitations and other relevant persons)
• Program and classroom situations facilitate sibling/parent/extended family involvement
• There is a belief that each child can develop a communication system directed toward community integration
• Positive approaches to address behavior problems are utilized
• There is support for professional sharing of resources with other programs/services and families
